Thanksgiving Decor!

Now that we are way past Thanksgiving and approaching the New Year, here I am finally posting our Thanksgiving festivites and decor. Better late than never! My friend Andrea hosted the friends Thanksgiving at her house and we both brainstormed the decor and tablescape ideas. It turned out so cute, I am very excited to share! At least these ideas will be around for next year so if you need any inspiration for next year, keep this in mind!

We both loved the idea of black and gold as well as incorporating chalk! I made a fun pinwheel banner and Andrea was the best chef ever!

Unfortunatley we only got a couple pictures at the beginning of the night and failed to get a group pic but it was so nice to have everyone together for the 2nd annual friends Thanksgiving!

Burst of color!

The posts are few and far between these days so I apologize! I am working on it and hopefully will be posting much more soon! On the clothing front - I have been trying to incorporate more colors and patterns. I feel like they just make my mood brighter, too! Oh and every time I see some one wearing a great pattern or mixing patterns and colors - I'm just drawn to the look. Some people might not love the mixing and multiple colors but I'm trying it and loving it.
Thanksgiving is this week! Where has the time gone? I'm sure everyone feels like time is just flying by - it especially is over here. Is anyone doing Black Friday shopping? We want to get a new washer and dryer but I don't think we even need to go on Friday, all the deals are starting earlier and are available online. Which is nice, but what happened to the early morning shopping and fun of Black Friday?! I kind of love the craziness - it used to be a tradition and now retailers are changing it up and opening up even earlier! Oh well, I guess I need to roll with it!
We are a month out from Christmas - TODAY! Ahhh I don't want it to get here yet, I love love love this time of year so I want it to last for a while! ;)
B and I have decided to play it smart with Christmas because we really don't need anything and we'll be buying lots for the house when its ready so we'll be doing a couple small things for Christmas. I'm thinking about an inexpensive gift guide feature. :) Hopefully I can find some good items that aren't too pricey to feature.
Everything else is going really great in our new home town. I loved fall, I think its safe to safe fall is over or nearly over but it was so so beautiful here! Next stop winter. So far it hasn't been so bad - BUT I don't think I have seen anything yet. ;) We are definitely settled and now just waiting on the house.

Look Whoo's Having a Baby Girl!

Today I am so excited to share the details of a baby shower that I just co-hosted! As you'll see the theme was owls and we decided on lots of pastel colors. I designed the inviations and was in charge of the paper goods and decor which I love! This is my favorite thing to do. I love to cook and bake but I'm just not as talented in that area so I like to stick with the paper decor stuff!
The menu was so good and super cute. We decided on a soup bar since the Mama to be is a soup lover and it's something fun and different from the traditional brunch or snacky items. We had Wisconsin Coliflower, Chicken Noodle and Butterbut Squash Soup and all were fantastic!
We did some fruit, spakling lemondae and some adorbale little owl cakes. Oh and they were pumpkin flavored! Look how cute they turned out! The owl baking pan is at World Market just in case you have any desire to bake little owl cakes! So delish and so adorable!
The Mama to be had a great time and all we can hope for is that she felt oh-so special and loved.
We are so excited to meet baby V in January!

Lulu's Midi Pencil Skirt Love!

It's super simple, I know... but I just LOVE this midi skirt! There are a couple photos of the back if you scroll down and the back is what really made me love this skirt. I am always looking for pencil skirts and I always run into them being too short. As mentioned I am tall and have a longer waist so skirts are always so short and not work appropriate. SO - When I was working with Lulu's, and saw this, I knew it would be perfect! I paired this with a lightweight navy blue top from H&M, the top has a teeny black border which I loved as well. The lipstick is good ole revlon! I bought this last fall and it's called black cherry, perfect when you are ready to dive into fall!
So all is really great here in Utah, we are definitely all settled and I am so excited for this time of year, it's already cooling off in the mornings and evenings and feeling like fall. B loves this time of year because it's football season and he is loving it!
We are going to the BYU vs. UTAH game this weekend and it's at BYU, we are going with B's family and are super excited. It should be really fun and I hope they win! Otherwise I am in for a quiet car ride home. ;)
I hope you all have a great Friday and fantastic weekend!
