RED, YELLOW & BLUE AND I GUESS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT

If you have been reading along lately, you know my lovely husband has been coming up with names for my posts. Since he is my photographer and all... I suppose he can have a say. Today's post, Flight Attendant. I guess I see what he means, the sweater is what does it! I love this sweater though, it kind of reminds me of Mad Men style... anyone?
I just love love love reds and blue's lately. Especially the together with a red lip!

Updates on Utah:
We are loving it, I mean we couldn't have moved here at a better time. The weather is warm during the day like I am used to, (90-100 degrees) and then down in the 70's at night, not getting dark until at least 9:30-10:00. The days are long and the evening's just stretch on which is great. We can go for run's outside without melting which I am ok with!
• I met a blogger friend at one of B's softball games (he is playing in the league again with all his buddies since we're back) turns out her husband is on B's team, small world! CRAZY, RIGHT? It was so nice to meet her in person and she's just as adorable as I imagined! Maybe we'll do a joined post soon!
House hunting is still coming along, it's such a big decision that we really want to look around A LOT to make sure.
I was able to have a girls shopping day with my Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law and neice last week. It was a sucessful day becuase we all found great stuff!
Bryce's birthday is less than two weeks away and I have about 3 of his gifts ready, I'll share them with you after the fact as he might look at this before the bday. We'll do the camping trip and celebrate with friends and family over the weekend and then on Monday we'll do a romantic date just us two. Any suggestions for great restaurants in Salt Lake? I know it's his choice since it's his birthday and all but I can always suggest things!

PARADE OF HOMES

I have always wanted to go to a PARADE OF HOMES, how fun is it to tour around beautiful dream homes and then discuss the things that you loved adn hated about each one... as if you were really buying one!? LOL! Not to mention get ideas on great decor.
We went with some friends last weekend to the UTAH VALLEY PARADE OF HOMES and it was everything I was hoping for. There were a total of 23 homes to see and we only made it to 7 homes in 4 hours. Some locations had a couple homes but for the most part you had to drive to each one so that's what took up our time! It was a fun experience and I loved seeing all the great styles and decor. Bare with me as I was just taking pictures from my phone but I picked out my favs. Hopefully you enjoy them, feel inspired and feel like you were able to get a glimpse of what a PARADE OF HOMES is like.
Feel free to pin away to your inspiration boards!

FOR THE FOURTH!

Growing up I always loved the 4th of July, we always gathered with friends and family, barbequed and  the watched fireworks. I love the traditions that come along with the 4th of July, over the past few years my love for this holiday has grown. This year since we are back in Utah, we are going to the 4th of July neighborhood breakfast. The neighborhood that my husband grew up in has been doing this annual breakfast for over 30 years and this will be the first time I get to go to this famous breakfast! See, these are the traditions I'm talking about - I just love them! After that we are visiting with some friends who are coming in town and probably taking the beach cruisers for a ride (our good friends just got cruisers, too!) then later that night we'll all do a big date night dinner followed by the park for watching fireworks! I'm so excited for all this! Then the next day we leave for our big camping trip, again super excited for this! We haven't been camping in a while so we are definitely looking forward to it!
I put together a little board of some items that I came across that I just love for the 4th.

Do you have any fun 4th of July Traditions that you remember growing up? Or any new ones you have created? And anyone from Utah... any fun things you would recommend? We have a park we are thinking of for fireworks but if you have any amazing spots you would like to share, please do, I would love to hear them!

REVIEW ON DRY SHAMPOO!

I have been using Dry Shampoo's for quite a few years now. I first started with Bumble and Bumble, I love this product and I didn't mind spending the money on it. However, as more and more companies created their own versions, I began branching out especially when they are less than half of the price of Bumble and Bumble. Since the move, I accidentally packed away my current go to dry shampoo which is Batiste, so I went out on the hunt for a new one. I have tried all four of these and my reviews are at the bottom!
Since my hair is so blonde and to be honest, it's dry. It has to stand all the dyeing I do to it so I don't like to wash it everyday. It's not good for your hair to wash, blowdry and use hot irons on it everyday so I like to wait 2 or even 3 days in between washes and thank goodness for dry shampoo becuase without it, I would definiteyl not be able to go as long!

From left to right:

// Batiste Original (also comes in a floral scent, brown color and fresh scent) $3.99 at Ulta or TJ MAXX or online.
• I love this, this is one of my favs! I have tried 2 of the scents and both are fabulous! They really help with volume and freshening up my roots!

// TRESemme FRESHSTART Dry Shampoo for fine.oily hair (also comes in formula for color treated hair, a sleek formula and dry formula) $4.49 at Target, Walmart, Ulta etc.
• I just purchased this one becuase it got rave reviews from another blogger I follow. So far so good, I don't really like the scent but it's cheap and it's makes your hair kinda of rough feeling which makes it tease and style better!

// Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder (also comes in Blonde, Black, Brown, light Brown and shown here, White) $36.00 at salons, online and Sephora.
• All time FAV! BUT it'd $32.00 and that is just ridulious! I buy this in the white color becuase my hair is so light but when my roots are showing, the white spray powder doesn't look so hot against the dark roots. With that being said, I am at a point that I like the top 2 choices better, I mean $32.00 juat doesnt seem absolutely necessary when the others exist!

// Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo Spray $21.00 at Sephora (I found it for $7.99 at TJ MAXX)
• This I bought last week and my review is Ehhh. Not my favorite. I didn't see any difference and didn't like the scent. I probably won't even use what I bought and won't buy again!

SATURDAY MORNING HIKE & WAFFLES!

Last weekend my friend and I planned a Saturday morning hike, I love starting the weekend off right with some exercise or something active. In AZ, hiking is not an option in the summer but in Utah, ahhhh the perfect time to be outside. Here's some information on the hike we did, I would absolutely recommend it if you are looking for something moderate with beautiful views at the top!

Desolation Trail to Salt Lake Overlook (Overlook Trail, Trail 019 ) - (4.8 miles round trip). Trail is accessed from the Desolation trailhead located just east of Millcreek Inn on the south side of the canyon. This a moderately strenuous hike that leads to a fantastic view of the Salt Lake Valley. The Overlook Trail is also a popular snowshoe trail in winter.

It started off a little on the cooler side (at least to me) and as we climbed up, the sun was shining and it was just perfect. The tall trees and smell were amazing. The hike took us about an hour and a half I believe so it was a good amount of time in the morning without losing a huge chunk of the day.

After the hike we went to a great little food truck called "Saturday's Waffle" it was delicious! The portions are just perfect, not too much where you feel stuffed! I got a Waffle with Vanilla bean & candied pecan topping with banana's and whipped cream. It was basically a dessert but I loved it!  It's just a teeny little food truck in the Olympus Hills Shopping Plaza. Visit their website here to see all the waffle choices and more information. They are open every Saturday from 8 am - Noon.
